Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Card Ledger ("we," "us," or "our") operates getcardledger.com and the Card Ledger web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Card Ledger, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Google account information — your name, email address, and profile photo, collected when you sign in via Google OAuth.
- Transaction data — purchase and sale records, prices, payment methods, notes, and photos you enter manually within the app.
- Google Sheets data — we create and write to a Google Sheet in your Google Drive on your behalf to store and display your transaction history.
- Device storage — transaction data is temporarily stored in your browser's local storage to enable offline access and fast performance.
We do not collect payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or any government-issued identification.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and maintain your session
- To create and sync your transaction records to your Google Sheet
- To display your profit and loss summary within the app
- To improve the app's performance and fix bugs
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
3. Third-Party Services
Card Ledger relies on the following third-party services to operate:
- Google OAuth — for authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Sheets API — to store your transaction data in your own Google Drive. Your data lives in your Google account, not ours.
- Vercel — for hosting. Governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party providers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your transaction data is stored in your own Google Drive via Google Sheets. We do not maintain a separate database of your financial records. Local copies may exist in your browser's local storage and will be cleared if you clear your browser data.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. Use of Card Ledger is at your own risk. We cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the internet.
5. Data Retention
We retain your Google account information for as long as you maintain an account with us. Your transaction data lives in your Google Drive and is under your control at all times. You may delete your Google Sheet at any time.
To request deletion of your Card Ledger account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
6. Children's Privacy
Card Ledger is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Card Ledger after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
